BVWS Updates
Biggleswade Swapmeet and Auction - Sunday 15th September 2024
This autumn's BVWS Biggleswade Meet & Auction will run on September 15th (2024). We will publish auction details and catalogue details nearer the date.
The Weatherley Centre (SG18 8JH) has off-street parking right by the hall, and and free on-street parking very close by. It is located only a mile from either of the two Biggleswade exit roundabouts on the A1. Train services are excellent (under an hour from London), and the station is a 12 minute walk from the hall.
If you can find room in the car park behind the Centre itself, please use it. Once that's full, please park on the road (lots of room) and come back to collect your stuff at the end of the show. Parking on the rest of the school grounds is unfortunately not allowed, and you may be booked.
Doors open 09:30 and the auction starts at 12:30. Only BVWS members can bid in the auction, but you can join on the day!
Refreshments will be available all day. BVWS members, please show your membership card at the door to get a drink voucher.
Location details are on the Event Locations page.
For dates of all our 2024 events and some 2025-2027 events please visit the Events Diary page.
Stallholder Booking Forms
At a time when we are conscious of material wastage and looking to reduce costs, flyers will no longer be included in with the Bulletin (other than for RetroTechUK and Royal Wootton Bassett); instead they will be available for prospective stall-holders to download and print here.

British Vintage Wireless Society
The British Vintage Wireless Society (BVWS) is a society of over 1200 World-wide members sharing a common interest in the preservation and communication of technical and historical data, and the preservation and restoration of Vintage radio and related equipment.
We publish a quarterly Bulletin containing a wide range of restoration and historical articles, photographs of events, Society news etc. This is a high quality publication. Many earlier bulletins are available on this website.
We hold regular meetings around the UK. These meetings have stalls selling vintage radio and related items, and often also include a bring-and-buy stall, working displays of vintage equipment, historical presentations and an auction. Refreshments are available at reasonable prices. Take a look at the events diary page for current details.
The Society regularly produces supplements for members, consisting of technical, historic and documentary interest. Over the past several years we have produced (with Copyright permission) CD-ROMs of the Trader Service sheets 1 to 1899, all BVWS Bulletins no longer in print and all editions of 405 Alive magazine, several DVDs containing historic films, plus a number of other paper supplements and our own history book. These are all free to members.
Our Society relies on new membership, new Bulletin articles and new ideas to enable it to flourish and secure its future for generations to come. If you have an interest in collecting and restoring old equipment, or just looking at or listening to old radios, televisions or Hi-Fi, then why not consider becoming a BVWS member.
An application form can be found on the join the BVWS page. You could also contact the Membership Secretary who will be happy to answer any questions about the Society.
