BVWS Updates
Royal Wootton Bassett Swapmeet and Auction - 7th December 2025
Around 30 stalls selling not only sets but also all the spares, bits and pieces that you'll need for those dark winter evenings in the workshop!
The Bring & Buy stall will be in the side annex for those who wish to bring one or two items to sell.
The usual excellent hot and cold refreshments will be available throughout the day and of course the customary mince pie at the door!
The BVWS table will have good stocks of capacitors, all those old-fashioned values and in dimensions that modern suppliers don't stock anymore! And De-oxit at lower than on-line prices...
Everyone is welcome to visit, but only BVWS members may participate in the auction. However, you might wish to join up on the day which will be possible. Or why not take the opportunity to renew your BVWS membership for 2026 while you are there? Payments by debit/credit cards gladly accepted at the BVWS stall!
Stallholder entry is at 9.00am, general entry at 9.30am. Auction starts around 12.30pm - there will be around 300 lots, including some extremely interesting and rarely seen items.
The auction catalogue and photos of many of the lots are now available HERE.
Admission £8 cash on the door or in advance using the booking form below.
Future Events
Dates of our 2026 events and some 2027-2028 events are on the Events Diary page.
We have also included dates of events at the British Vintage Wireless and Television Museum, however you should check their website for details.
Event location details are on the Event Locations page.
Stallholder Booking Forms
Previously A4 printed flyers for stall-holder table bookings at events have been included with the Bulletins. Over 1200 flyers are printed for each event and depending on the number stalls available at that meeting, only 15 to 35 of them ever get used.
At a time when we are conscious of material wastage and looking to reduce costs, flyers will no longer be included in with the Bulletin (other than for RetroTechUK and Royal Wootton Bassett); instead they will be available for prospective stall-holders to download and print here.

British Vintage Wireless Society
The British Vintage Wireless Society (BVWS) is a society of over 1200 World-wide members sharing a common interest in the preservation and communication of technical and historical data, and the preservation and restoration of Vintage radio and related equipment.
We publish a quarterly Bulletin containing a wide range of restoration and historical articles, photographs of events, Society news etc. This is a high quality publication. Many earlier bulletins are available on this website.
We hold regular meetings around the UK. These meetings have stalls selling vintage radio and related items, and often also include a bring-and-buy stall, working displays of vintage equipment, historical presentations and an auction. Refreshments are available at reasonable prices. Take a look at the events diary page for current details.
The Society regularly produces supplements for members, consisting of technical, historic and documentary interest. Over the past several years we have produced (with Copyright permission) CD-ROMs of the Trader Service sheets 1 to 1899, all BVWS Bulletins no longer in print and all editions of 405 Alive magazine, several DVDs containing historic films, plus a number of other paper supplements and our own history book. These are all free to members.
Our Society relies on new membership, new Bulletin articles and new ideas to enable it to flourish and secure its future for generations to come. If you have an interest in collecting and restoring old equipment, or just looking at or listening to old radios, televisions or Hi-Fi, then why not consider becoming a BVWS member.
An application form can be found on the join the BVWS page. You could also contact the Membership Secretary who will be happy to answer any questions about the Society.
